Hey guys, sorry to have gone a bit MIA again these last few weeks; I've been happily busy seeing POTO and writing reviews! Speaking of which, have I got some amazing Meg-related stuff to tell you about this last time I went...

...but I'm gonna be nasty and save that for my next update, because there might be more to add to the story when I see the show again tonight. MWAHAHA.

For now, here's a scan I made of Jessi Ehrlich's picture in the US tour cast insert (sorry about the quality, but it's the best I could do). Click it for full-size:

Sorry for the complete lack of updates for the last couple of months, everyone! I just haven't had the time. But I'm back now, and with some pretty good stuff!

First up, Phantom Cat at POL scanned a few pages of the latest London program, including a couple that include Meg. The back cover of the program is a fantastic shot of Meg with the mask! Isn't it great?

Next, Laura at the Jennifer Ellison Forum provided me with a clip of an appearance Jen made on This Morning on October 20th, 2004. In it she discusses her background in ballet, appearing onstage in Chicago, and, of course, the POTO movie! She also performs "My Own Best Friend" from Chicago with costar Anna Jane Casey. I've uploaded it to YouTube for your viewing pleasure:

And finally, here's a recent interview with Jen in which she talks about, among many other things, being cast in POTO:

"I've done a few mag shoots and that's kind of overshadowed my acting," says Jennifer. "People just see one thing. It's not something I'm embarrassed of and I don't have any regrets. When you come out of a soap, people see you as that character, so I think it got me out of that Emily Shadwick thing early on.

"The reason I got Phantom is because (director) Joel Schumacher saw me and loved me on GMTV. People were panicking, because you've got a cast of Minnie Driver and Gerard Butler and then it's, 'Jennifer Ellison?! What's going on?' But they just loved me, so it's people who are willing to take a chance, really, people who aren't affected by what drama school you've been to."

Jennifer says she's learned to keep it in perspective. "I was with an actress on Boeing Boeing who'd come out of drama school and never worked and was really frustrated and eaten up with it, and so I think, 'What will be will be'.

"Things have always come along for me and I've loved doing them, so I'm really happy."

So that's all for now, hopefully I'll have more to post soon! (If nothing else, I'll probably have stagedoor pictures of me with Jessi Ehrlich, since I'm seeing opening night of the US tour's stop in San Francisco a week from today! ^_^)

Tori Johns takes over as Meg in London

Tori Johns is officially the new Meg in the West End production now; the official show site has been updated with her bio:

Tori trained as a junior associate of the Royal Ballet School, then all through White Lodge, the Lower School and into the Royal Ballet Upper School until the age of 19; winner of the 2002 Phyllis Bedells Bursary, Young British Dancer of the Year commendation.

Tori has danced at the Royal Opera House on numerous occasions, for the school, as a soloist and with the Royal Ballet Company.

More recently Tori has finished the 2007-08 UK tour of Cats in which she was a swing. The tour visited five venues in Italy where she played Cassandra.

London Cast Change

Several months ago I was contacted by Peter G, who provided me with this information about his friend Dunja Siehl, the actress who played Meg in Germany and can be heard in the role on the Hamburg Cast Highlights Recording. I was planning to wait and add this to the actual site once it was back on its metaphorical feet, but since that's taking so long I decided to post it here now!

She was born and grew up in Brunsbuettel - Dithmarschen - North Germany in the 1960s

I found a fantastic interview with Jessi Ehrlich, who currently plays Meg on the US tour. She talks about how she trained, auditioned for and won the role of Meg, and gives advice for aspiring performers.

It sounds like a story from an old-fashioned Broadway musical.

A small-town Texas girl:

* Grows up dreaming of (and working toward) a career on the stage.
* Leaves home to pursue her dream.
* Travels to an audition in New York City.
* Lands a starring role in the national tour of "Phantom of the Opera."

Phantom 2

For those of you who have not yet heard, the POTO sequel's title has changed from Phantom of Manhattan to - get this - Phantom: Once Upon Another Time. (And we all thought it couldn't get worse!)

The first act is set to premiere at Lloyd Webber's private Sydmonton Festival next month, and, according to this article, I'd Do Anything contestant Rachel Tucker will be singing the role of Meg Giry. This does not mean she'll go on to originate the role in the actual production, but it does give us a hint as to what Meg's role might sound like vocally. Here's a video of her on I'd Do Anything. (I'd Do Anything is a reality show in the UK meant to find the lead in a production of Oliver!) What do you guys think?

As well as stage musicals, you also appeared as Meg in the film version of The Phantom of the Opera. What was the process you went through to getting this part?
Appearing in Phantom was amazing - but as with everyone, I had to audition and do a screen test. The director, Joel Schumacher, seemed pleased with me - and they even wrote Meg into some extra scenes!

Ok, so I finally saw POTO onstage again last Tuesday after a five-year drought, and it was in-freaking-credible! As expected. Everything about it was amazing, but one of the things that made me happiest was how fantastic the actress who played Meg, Jessi Ehrlich, was! She really stole several moments in the show and she seemed like a sweetheart when I met her at the stagedoor! I told her about this site and I think she found it a little strange (I suppose she doesn't meet many obsessive Meg Giry fans), but she was very kind. And here's a picture of me with Jessi, my first time ever meeting an actress who played Meg! (Please excuse how awful I look.) She's tiny.

As most of you know, I have been working with the Orange County Performing Arts Center (OCPAC) for the last seven years, and I get to do a lot of amazing things because of that relationship. While the Phantom of the Opera was in town last month, the company changed out one of the principal actors who played Meg and hired me to do the new public relations stills.

We did the photographs on the stage with the new actor, Jessi Ehrlich, in full costume as Meg. She had three people looking after her: make-up, hair and a dresser. I had five people looking after me, helping me with the lighting and background, as well as the stage manager and a company representative helping me direct the shot. After meeting Jessi on stage, I got the light level and temperature to set my camera, and then ran down into the seating area to take the picture. We worked for about 20 minutes until we had what we wanted. I said “that’s a wrap” and everyone disappeared and that was it. What fun!

The final image turned out to be the third one we did. They loved working with me and the final image so I hope to have another opportunity to do something like this again down the line.

Magical Lasso Blooper

Hey folks! I just found a fantastic video of a blooper that occured in the Broadway production of POTO when, for reasons unknown, the actor playing Joseph Buquet didn't come out on stage for "Magical Lasso"! In a stroke of pure genius, Heather McFadden as Meg stood up and delivered all of his lines herself, and Sally Williams as Madame Giry changed one of her lines too.

Isn't that fantastic? Personally, I think this actually made it a lot more like the first chapter of the novel, with Meg telling everyone stories she probably shouldn't be sharing...what do you all think?

Movie pictures

This past Wednesday I was at Borders in San Francisco where I came across the companion book for the 2004 movie and discovered a photo I'd never seen from the set that included Meg in the background, as well as a photo of Jennifer Ellison having her makeup touched-up in better quality than I'd seen before. Unfortunately I couldn't scan the pages, but I attempted to photograph them. They're not great quality because of that, but I did my best:

Dream run for young Phantom star

Nadia Komazec says she's living a dream in her role as a principal performer in one of the world's most popular stage musicals.

Eighteen-year-old Nadia comes from Adelaide and is in a national touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic The Phantom Of The Opera.

It's a dream come true for Komazec, who plays Meg Giry, a friend to the leading lady, Christine Daa.

She was selected to join the cast more than a year ago for the show's Singapore run.

She then continued in the role for the Melbourne season and is now with the production in Brisbane.

"I'm loving it," she said last week, speaking to the Blacktown Sun while she was on her way to a rehearsal.

"We're getting a standing ovation almost every night here in Brisbane."

Komazec said she was looking forward to playing for Sydney audiences when the show finally opened at the Lyric Theatre, Star City.

The season opens on May 11 and already shows have been scheduled to run through to the end of July, so popular has it been everywhere it has played.

"I feel so blessed to be so young and part of such a company, which includes such great artists as Anthony Warlow and Jackie Rees" she said.

"They are so inspiring."

For Komazec, the role of Giry, the daughter of dance teacher Madame Giry, is somewhat ironic and strangely coincidental.

"It's art imitating life really," she said.

"My mother is a dance teacher."

Komazec studied singing and dancing at her mother's dance studio.

She says she grew up in a household where such artists as the dancers Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire and the perennial favourite Judy Garland and their contemporaries were held in the highest esteem.

Komaxec says she hopes to be a leading lady.

"There's nothing I enjoy more than being on stage," she said.

Komazec says The Phantom Of The Opera has a magical and timeless quality. She says audience recation is proving that it's every bit as popular today as when it first came to Australia in the early '90s.

As mentioned above Anthony Warlow, Australia's first Phantom, has reprised his role in the current production.

He is joined by an impressive supporting cast, which includes new talent Ana Marina as Christine, the object of the Phantom's desire.

The Phantom Of The Opera has been running on Broadway for 20 years the longest running musical on Broadway. It has won more than 50 major theatre awards, including seven Tony Awards.

I highly recommend that last one especially. In it, Jen discusses her reputation for doing sexy photoshoots, some trouble in her family life, and her career's future. She even says she's auditioned for a "huge Walt Disney movie"! Sounds exciting, huh?

Phantom of Manhattan News

Happy January everybody! Sorry for the lack of updates, but there hasn't been anything to post lately! Hopefully that'll change soon, especially once I get one of my snazzy new Phantom ballerina calendars scanned! Anybody else get one for Christmas? Anyway, here's a tidbit regarding the planned sequal to POTO:

In Phantom in Manhattan, the Daily Mail says, "the Phantom has slipped away to New York and has set up a fairground world on Coney Island, along with Madame Giry and her daughter, Meg. He organizes a concert in Manhattan for Christine, the object of his desire. Christine travels to the U.S. with her husband Raoul and their teenage son, who happens to be a musical genius...just like the Phantom."

So it appears that the plot has been changed and Erik is now...living with Meg and Madame Giry? Hmmm. On the one hand, it gives Meg a bigger role! On the other, it sounds kinda stupid. What do you think?

A Phantom Family Holiday

Brianne Kelly Morgan, Meg in the Las Vegas production of POTO, announced on POL a few days ago that the Vegas cast and crew are putting on a Christmas concert to benefit Family Promise Las Vegas, and it will also include a silent auction for items related to the show. Brianne writes:

For those of you in Vegas, you have to come and see this. We are singing, dancing, bell ringing, we even have a old time radio hour! It features members of our company from all departments.

We are even having a silent auction with many wonderful things donated by our cast and crew. There are gift baskets put together by cast members, an opportunity to conduct the bow music for a show, and a full backstage tour complete with watching the Phantom make-up application and watching the show from the Stage Managers booth high in the Chandelier dome! For those who love the costumes, we have ornaments filled with fabric from specific characters and signed by the actors who play them. There's also a pillow made with fabric from Christine's costumes and Phantom, Christine and Red Death bears. I'm making a Meg Giry bear for my basket.

She told Loose Women yesterday, "It’s been reported that I’m back with Tony but I’m not. We were together for seven years and we’ve got a parrot and dogs and we’re kind of arguing over who is going to keep them. Finally I have something to post that doesn't have to do with Jennifer Ellison! And this is really exciting news!

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has released a 2008 calendar that features - get this - photographs of the ballerinas (including Meg) from the Broadway production of POTO out and about in New York City! And entire calendar dedicated to the ballerinas! And the money goes to charity!

The Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera is releasing a special, limited-edition 2008 wall calendar titled "The Adventures of the Phantom Ballerinas," beginning Thursday, November 1. As of that date, the collectible calendar will be available for sale through the Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) online store (www.broadwaycares.org). The calendar is also available to patrons attending the musical at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street).

Dirty Dancing - premieres tonight!

Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life, the dance competition/reality show based on the film Dirty Dancing and featuring Jennifer Ellison as the lead judge, premieres tonight, October 17th, at 9 PM in the UK. Unfortunately for those of us in America, I haven't been able to find any clips of it online yet, but I'll keep searching! Meanwhile, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the official show site.

I promise I'll find some kind of Meg-related thing to post soon, for thos of you who aren't interested in Jen. There's been no news lately, but I'll find something to post, even if it's just a bootleg on YouTube.

But now she is enjoying the single life – and says flirty men and saucy chat-up lines are helping her fix her broken heart.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, 24-year-old Jennifer – who played Emily O’Leary in Brookie until 2003 – says: “When I was in the relationship I was never chatted up by guys but now all that’s changed.

“It’s made me feel really attractive and nice. It’s been good for my ego. Having someone cheat on you and having a relationship that ends so badly, you really need that.”

Jennifer’s hopes of living happily ever after with Richardson were shattered when he was caught cheating on her with John Terry’s ex, Shalimar Wimble.

And she revealed that during their seven years together he smashed her over the head with a bottle in a nightclub row and broke her collar bone by throwing her to the floor in a temper.

Jen’s self-confidence was further battered by the fact that Richardson never complimented her or said she looked pretty – even as she was topping magazine polls to find the sexiest women in the world.

Now Jen is taking her time to get back on her feet. She admits: “I’m missing somebody – but not him.

“I’ve been in a relationship for a long time so I’m not on the lookout for another man yet.

“But what’s happened hasn’t put me off men. If one came along I wouldn’t go, ‘No, I don’t want to meet anyone else.’ If it happens, it happens.

‘ I want to have children and get married but it is not the main priority at the moment. I want to go on single girl's holidays and have fun with my mates. ’

The shock of being two-timed came just as Jennifer prepared to fly to Virginia to film reality series Dirty Dancing: The Time Of Your Life at the hotel where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey made the original 1987 chick flick.

With no mobile phone signal at the mountain hotel, Jennifer was cut off from Richardson and any temptation to take him back.

She recalls: “I’d had doubts about doing it but I had signed my contract and thought, ‘I’m not letting what happened spoil it.’

“I thought I’d be a wreck but I’ve actually surprised myself with how strong I am.

“Before, I’d never go anywhere unless Tony or my mum were with me. But I came to do this on my own, which is a huge achievement for me. I’m shocked by how well I have coped.”

Jennifer is now enjoying flirting and being back on the market. And the good news for Britain’s blokes is that she hasn’t got a dream man in mind.

She says: “I have never been with someone that was a stunning, attractive, pretty man. Personality means more to me. If someone makes me laugh and we have that connection, that’s what I go for.

“And I’ve never gone for an actor – although I wouldn’t mind doing some very dirty dancing with Wentworth Miller from Prison Break!”

While she is nursing her own heartache, Jennifer is happy to play cupid to the 16 young contestants on the reality show.

But she insists she has not been tempted by any of the super-fit male contestants and says: “Any woman finds a man who can dance attractive. If you get someone who is a fantastic dancer, another dancer is automatically going to find them sexy. But I’m one of the judges and I didn’t fancy any of the lads.”

Jennifer was desperate to work on the show because the original movie inspired her to become a dancer.

She spent her childhood at dance classes, winning world and national titles in ballet, tap and jazz.

And her own experience on the dance circuit means she is expecting things to get heated between the contestants on her show.

She says: “I was never confident in me as a person but I was as a performer. It can get really bitchy with all the mums fighting, but my mum never had to, because I could fight for myself. One mum came up to me and said, ‘You’ll never be a ballerina because your boobs are too big’. I’d just been accepted to the Royal Ballet School for training so I just said, ‘Big mistake’.”

Jennifer reckons her dance training has helped her throughout her career, from joining Brookside aged 15 to standing up to Gordon Ramsay in Hell’s Kitchen in 2004. She says:

‘ Gordon was a fairy compared to some of my ballet teachers. But they instilled discipline and that has been in me since I was a young girl. ’

“My friends were all drinking cider at bus stops and I was doing five hours a day ballet training. I didn’t kiss a boy until I was 16 because I was never out at parties or hanging around the streets, I was always doing ballet.

“But learning about the hours, the effort and the hard work has helped me in every other job I have done afterwards.” After Brookside Jen went on to win a role in the movie version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom Of The Opera and she has just filmed the lead role in new Brit movie The Cottage.

She flew to Virginia after winning acclaim for her role in Chicago in the West End. But despite her expanding CV, which includes modelling for Ultimo lingerie, she says she loves her home too much ever to try her luck in Hollywood.

Though working regularly in London she still lives near her mum in Liverpool and insists she wouldn’t give up her roots in the city. She says: “I couldn’t imagine flying to LA and going into castings every day, it’s not me. I’d miss my home and family too much.

“After Phantom, people said I should do it. But I won’t even move to London, I’m up and down there two or three times a week.

“My weekly night out is the pub quiz at the local. How sad is that?”

NEWLY single girl about town Jennifer Ellison has revealed just why she’s the perfect judge for this month’s latest reality show Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life.

She used to act out the cheesy routines for her mates in Liverpool.

“I must have seen the film 100 times,” says Jen. “I always wanted to be Penny. I used to put on shows for everyone on the street and for my family. Dirty Dancing and Grease were the reason I was always so focused, it gave me passion, so it has a special place in my heart.”

She is heading up the judging panel for the show in which 16 dancers will be living out the Dirty Dancing dream. They’re being taken to the film’s original location - Kellerman’s resort in Virginia - in a contest to find the new real-life Baby and Johnny dance duo. The successful duo will win a year’s contract with top LA-based dance agency BLOC?

Jen was chosen after programme makers discovered that before joining Brookie she’d trained at the Royal Ballet School.

Although fans of her lads mag pictures might surprised to discover that her much-admired assets were less appreciated back then.

“I was in the English championships for ballet, ballroom tap and jazz, but it is dead competitive and can be dead bitchy,” she says. “I remember all the mums arguing. My mum wasn’t, because I came first, but they were all slagging me off saying ‘her boobs are too big’.

Insider is pretty sure she’s had no complaints since. Jennifer appears in the October issue of the all-new Skymag.

DIRTY DANCING talent show Time Of Your Life was a hot bed of romantic liaisons according to TV judge Jennifer Ellison.

The stunning Chicago star mentored the dance wannabes for the show and was amazed by how steamy things got on set.

She told Sun online: "There were loads and loads of romances. Everyone was very sexy, very fit and things got very hot.

"The lads, walking around in their vests, they were gorgeous."

Warm-hearted Jennifer had to force herself to toughen up and get rid of contestants who didn’t have enough talent or tenacity.

"I couldn’t have favourites and it broke my heart to see some of them leave," she added.

"I was their judge and mentor so I had to be professional. Some of the nicest people got booted off but it’s just all about talent."

Jennifer Ellison to join cast of Boeing-Boeing

Some happy Jen-related news for a change! According to What's On Stage, Jen is going to be joining the cast of the West End farce Boeing-Boeing on October 1st, playing the role of Gloria, an American air hostess. Interestingly enough, Jen will be taking over the role from Amy Nuttall, the youngest actress to have ever played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera stage show. To top it off, for a month in September (so, unfortunately, not coindicing with Jen's run), the role of Bernard will be played by Kevin McNally, who played Joseph Buquet in the POTO movie. I love things coincidences like that.

My only concern is the fact that this is the only place I've heard this news and it contradicts all the other recent news about her moving to New York, so it may turn out to just be a rumor. Either way, I'll be sure to keep you updated!

Jennifer Ellison runs to the U.S. after love split

According to DailyMail, the 24-year-old former Brookside star, who last week claimed he had battered her during their six-year-long relationship, is searching for a pad in New York - just a two-hour trip away from the set of her forthcoming working project.

Ellison has been signed up to front Living TV's Dirty Dancing - a reality series which will see a group of British girls flown over to Mount Lake, Virginia, to battle it out for a role as the legendary movie's leading lady, Baby.

A source revealed: "Jennifer wants to change her life after splitting with Tony.

"She wants to have some fun and it couldn't have happened at a better time because she has Dirty Dancing that is about to happen.

Jennifer, who has also starred in Hell's Kitchen and West End musical Chicago, was left devastated after discovering that her fellow Scouser Tony Richardson had cheated on her with kiss and tell girl, Shalimar Wimble earlier this year - spelling the end of their romance, relates the source cited above.

She later admitted he had beaten her - and even claimed that he once slammed her on the floor of a hotel room breaking her collarbone, and also attacked her with a bottle.

She said: "I'm just glad I finally had the courage to boot him out of my life for good. If I had known the truth about Tony in the first place, I would never have got involved with him."

This isn't exactly Meg-related, but considering a lot of people (including myself) really like Jennifer Ellison as Meg in the 2004 movie, I felt this was worth posting.

Poor Jen, whose boyfriend Tony was recently caught cheating on her, has now admitted publicly that she's been abused by him throughout their six-year relationship.

The ex-Brookside star sobbed through an emotion-charged interview as she detailed how he SMASHED her over the head with a bottle and HURLED her to the ground, shattering her collarbone.

Jennifer, 24, told how she COVERED UP her injuries as accidents because of her devotion to Richardson.

But our exposé last week of his cheating with England star John Terry's ex-WAG Shalimar Wimble has blown their engagement apart.

"I've lied and lied and lied for that man and this is how he repays me," she wept. "Your story was the final straw. I've not been able to sleep or eat since I read it.

If all of this is true, I hope Tony gets in A LOT of trouble because he seriously deserves it. I've always hoped, for Jen's sake, that Tony was a better guy than the tabloids made him out to be, but apparently that's not the case. What a horrible jerk.

There is a teensy weensy bit of good news in these stories, however: according to both sources, Jen will be coming to American to be a judge on a new TV dance competition based on the movie Dirty Dancing. I hope that comes to be, I'd love to be able to see her on TV. I'll keep you all updated on that as well as anything new that comes out about her problems with Tony.

Nadia Komazec is living a performer's dream.

The Adelaide teenager has landed a principal role in the upcoming Australian season of the Phantom of the Opera and will tour with the production for the next two years.

She will play the role of Meg Giry, opposite veteran phantom Anthony Warlow.

Nadia began dancing aged two, with her dance teacher mother, Barbara Komazec.

"It's great to have a contract. To be signed up for 2 1/2 years is a dream come true. This is what I've wanted my whole life and I'm very grateful," the 17-year-old said.

Nadia has just returned from a three-month stint performing the role in Singapore.

After graduating from Annesley College last year, she had expected to study a three-year bachelor of musical theatre with the WA Academy of Performance Arts.

Instead, she was offered the coveted principal role.

"I feel like I've skipped the training and gone straight into a real job," she said.

She will now tour Australia and New Zealand with The Really Useful Company Asia Pacific.

"Being on stage for me is the one thing that makes me really, really happy. I love performing," she said.

The Australian Phantom of the Opera season opens in Melbourne on July 19 and travels to Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Auckland.

Somebody has published a Meg/Erik novel! It's called The Phoenix of the Opera and it's by Sadie Montgomery. Here's the summary I found on Amazon:

A Meg Music Box! Second birthday!

This is kinda big news, at least as big as Meg-related news gets! The San Francisco Music Box Company has released a new piece in it's ever-growing Phantom of the Opera collection, and it features Meg!
I found this on eBay - the listing is here, in case anybody wants to bid on it - and at first I wasn't sure if it was actually Meg, since this ballerina is in a pink tutu and the piece wasn't showing up in the POTO section of the SF Music Box Co. site. I brought it up at POL and was assured by someone that "It is legit. I have seen it in a SF Music Box catalog in the Phantom section. It's one of their newest releases and will probably make its way to the SF Music Box site soon."

According to that eBay listing it is 4" x 4" x 5 3/4" and it plays "Think of Me". (Please don't ask me why it plays "Think of Me" or why she's in pink, I'm as confused by those things as you are.) But it's pretty cool that Meg has her own music box, isn't it?

EDIT: I just realized the date. The Little Meg website officially turned 2 years old yesterday! Come to the forum and celebrate with us! Thanks for continuing to visit the site, everyone!

Actress Dodie Pettit (Original Broadway ballet chorus and Meg understudy, and later Christine on the US tour) has an extraordinary website that includes wonderful photos from behind-the-scenes in POTO and a long and detailed section about what her first rehearsals for the Broadway production were like, including very in-depth notes from Hal Prince and what it was like to meet the cast members for the first time. She is also married to former Phantom Kevin Gray, so there are obviously some lovely memories and photos of him too. Here are some of the excellent photos and tidbits from her site:

Then he said, "Well, why don't we all get to know each other by going around the room one by one saying our names and what we do." Wow, just like the first day of school, I thought. And so we did. It was quite charming actually. Everyone, but everyone; all 100+ of us; there we were, going up and down the rows saying our names and what we did. And all of us seemed to become, at least for that fifteen minute period, equals. Just people saying their names.

Up and down the rows we went, starting off with Judy Kaye who said simply "Hi, I'm Judy Kaye and I play Carlotta", and looked to the person next to her who followed suit. Soon we came up to Michael Crawford who spoke so softly that it prompted a voice to call out, "Louder, we can't here back here.." To which he blurted out, "Ah, yes! I'm Michael Crawford, I play the Phantom!" followed by a spontaneous burst of laughter from the ranks. Finally coming around to my side of the room we came upon the new girl "up" for "Meg" who said "I'm Elissa Heinsohn and I hope I'm Meg!" As much as I had wanted that part, I couldn't imagine what she might be feeling at that moment in the middle of all this. Down the row we went to Cameron Mackintosh who said with a slightly mischievous twinkle, "Hi. I'm Cameron Mackintosh, and I play the Producer." And then finally to Andrew himself who said simply and quietly, "I'm Andrew Lloyd Webber, and I'm the composer", as if he were of no more importance than one of the ballet chorus girls.

Ok folks, here's the deal: Little Meg has been stagnant for an embarassingly long time. I'm going to continue working on it, but it doesn't look like it's going to be updated very soon. (Isn't real life ~~wonderful~~ distracting?) In the meantime, I'm going to be posting updates here so that you can all see them now instead of waiting for the site to finally be updated. I appreciate all of your patience and understanding where Little Meg is concerned, and I hope this blog can suffice until the site is up and running again. Thanks, PG110
